Colorado Trip - Blessings Faithful Prayer Warriors!

We left here Thursday, Jun 24, with the temperatures in the upper 90’s.  Our first sing was at Texhoma PCG, where we’ve not been in a long time.  They were happy to see us, and Corinne Brawley invited us to her house to hook up.  The church fed us and we had a sweet time visiting with the Brawley’s.

We drove to Rocky Ford and Pastor Rex was out of town.  Sis Deb took good care of us and helped us get plugged in and set up that night.  Ms Angie cooked up a delicious meal and we went to bed.  We sang at Faith AG 2X Sunday, and Deb took us to eat Mexican food.  Lots of visitors came because of the good advertising.

We were a lil discouraged because the generator wasn’t working and it was so hot, for 2 little fat old maids, so Angie prayed someone would call and say some encouraging words.  Maria called and said we had been on her heart and she wanted to call and say she loved us.  God sure pays attention!  The promoter, who we thought had us 3 bookings, didn’t come through, so we drove to Raton, NM to camp out until God said “GO”.  Funds were low, but we needed a place to plug in and camp out while we waited.

Sugarite State Park was the perfect spot.  We stayed there 2 nights, and drove into town to use the computers at the Library.  Angie was able to make calls while in town, because we didn’t have a signal at camp.  We did have a skunk come calling, but they said she was tame.

Angie got extremely sunburned, cooking breakfast, and had fever from that for 2 nights.  Matter of fact, Angie was sick most of this trip from a lung infection and ran fever every night of the 3 weeks.  I’ve been worried about her.

On top of that, she had a gall bladder attack and was in so much pain, she couldn’t eat for almost a week.  She never missed a singing, but we were in constant prayer.  Finally Mom, our personal prayer warrior, called and said she had touched heaven and Angie was gonna get better.  After a bad night, with our faith being tested, she did start to improve.  Finally the stone passed through and left only inflammation and bruising, where she had pressed tight to endure the hurting.

Our generator muffler was causing black smoke to come up inside and covering the bathroom.  We prayed for the right person, and found him in Raton.  He also changed the oil and filters, hoping that would fix the generator.  It didn’t, but the black stuff settled down.

Buddy at Summerlan RV Park was recommended to us, so we drove there.  He determined it was the fuel pump, after replacing the spark plugs.  The part would have to be ordered and would cost around $270.00 plus labor.  He was so sweet and didn’t charge us a dime, plus let us stay in his beautiful RV Park for no charge.  We had a good visit about the Lord.  We were able to get our laundry caught up too.

We left there and headed to Flora Vista a day early, looking for RV plug ups.  We drove all day and most of the night.  Everyone was full because of the July 4th Holiday coming up.

We finally made it to Santa de Rosa PCG close to Farmington, NM.  Toby, the pastor’s son was working at the church and helped us hook up.  We saw a snake and seen someone get arrested right in front of the church, so it was all a little unnerving at first.  Toby was so kind and sat out with us and watched fire works and talked.  Angie made us all a sandwich and we had a good little visit.  We talked to him about getting back in church.  We’re praying for you, Toby!

Pastor “T” and his wife, took us to eat at Zebediah’s and then to watch the big fireworks display.  We had a great time. Bro. Delgarita and wife Sandra went with us.    They pastor in Bluewater.

God showed up and brought the “Forgive others” message to us that morning.  I sang “Please Forgive me” and shared a testimony of how God has delivered me from bitterness and hurt.  Around 10 came forward for prayer and the deliverance testimonies were wonderful.

After church, Sis “T” made homemade enchiladas and sopapillas, some of the best I’ve ever eaten.  The enchiladas had a fried egg inside, which helped cut the hot taste.  Mmmmm.

Sun PM, we drove to Dulce to sing for the Petty’s at the PCG. We also got to meet Bishop Boyles and his wife.  WOW.  These Indian mission churches are doing a work for God.  We were honored to meet a lot of Native American’s.  “Miracle in Me” was requested and the Lord helped us.  The altars filled up again.  After church we had nachos and hot dogs.  It got cold that night, and we had frost on the ground.   Sis Ruby Petty came to the RV and we caught up on our visiting with a long time friend.    Next day, they treated us to lunch.

Monday we headed towards the campmeeting in CO, where we were scheduled for Tuesday-Thursday.  We got as far as Pagosa Springs and the mountain driving proved too much for “Holly”.  She started over heating and pitching a fit.  We got an RV hook up for the night, as everything was closed for the Holiday.  Tuesday, we started making phone calls, trying to find someone who could work on the RV.  After 11 calls, we found Fred Sutton at Sutton Automotive.  He doesn’t work on RV’s, as they are so much trouble, but he said God told him to help us two ladies out.

So, from Tuesday to Friday, we camped in Fred and Deb’s shop.  They loaned us a car to go eat and run to bank, post office and every thrift store in town.  I spent a dollar that week and Angie spent around $5.00 shopping.  Pretty cheap entertainment!  They had Internet hook ups, so we were able to keep in contact with our family and web sites.  So many of you prayed for us, knowing we were broke down, and had to cancel our singings.

At first I questioned why God let this happen, and had a melt down Wednesday morning.  The Lord whispered Wait on the Lordand I settled down. As it turned out, God WAS in control and blocked us from going to the campmeeting for a reason.  Instead he opened the door for us to minister to the Gideon’s in Durango, CO Sat night.   Fred & Deb treated us to “Boss Hawg’s” and again to a meal at “CJ’s”.  They also are letting us pay out the almost $1600.00 bill, after discounting the labor.  God knew just where to let this happen.

We drove to Milan, NM and sang for Bro Clark at the PCG there. Paul treated us to “Iron Skillet”. Sis Clark treated us to Mexican food the next day.  Jim Bonnet 75 years old bought the parts and fixed our generator!  Bless his sweet heart. We were expecting to pay over $500.00.

We drove to Bonita Lake RV Park, and Buck Owens brought us some wood and let us stay for no charge.  He stayed around the campfire and we talked about the Lord for hours.

We then headed home, but our fairly new tires were vibrating so badly, we got them balanced, which didn’t help.  So, we stopped at JD’s in Eunice, NM and got 2 new tires put on the front.  They let us have them at cost, and are letting us pay that out as well.  It was so good to see the Pilcher family, our bestest of friends.  Ludy fed us and Jason helped us hook up at their house. JoAnn and JD treated us to Mexican food the next day.   You won’t find any better people in the world. Ludy gave me 6 big totes of books to sell.  WOW.

We made it home Wednesday, with 9 days to get all the work done before next trip.

We were privileged to have our CD “Remind Me Dear Lord” featured on Reach Canada.com .  Thanks so much for honoring us.  This is our first honor as a duet, and it means so much to us.

After this next trip, we plan to get our focus back on the studio and CD #20.  This summer has been really busy and we’re anxious to get the CD out.  I know you all are too.  We have enough funds set aside for this project for at least 3 more songs.  That will make 8, and we want to put 10 songs on there.  Mention that in prayer, if God reminds you during your prayer time.  We want to do God’s perfect will in all things.

If anyone feels a need to volunteer to help with book keeping, office work, bookings, mechanical work, RV repair, yard work, or daily prayer warrior work, we need some help.  There is always room for a worker!  Brent called to tell us their baby gonna be a boy and promised to come out and help with some more “honey do’s”.  He is so precious to us and always will be.

Our niece Jill just had a lil boy, Brady, weighing in at 9.8 pounds.  Big brother, Drew is so excited.
